We are all given skills and have learned from experiences that position us to uniquely give back to the world. In fact, this might be the most important thing we ever do. Below are a few of the projects that I have been fortunate enough to be a part of over the last several years.
Early in 2018, I was completing the climb of Kilimanjaro, when I shared some dehydrated mango with a friend from east Africa. He loved it and said that he had never had anything like it before. That conversation started Rebecca and I down a path that has turned into Umubano Group; an agricultural business with a focus on job creation and sustainable food preservation and distribution. I love adventure. And over the last few years, I have learned that my treks can become great ways to create awareness towards needs throughout the world. in 2016, I lead a group the top of Mt Rainier to create awareness and raise funds for a child food supply project. In 2018, we climbed to the top of Mt Kilimanjaro in an effort to create awareness and funding to send local village leaders in Rwanda Africa to get four year pastor degrees. And most recently, I returned to Mt Rainier, this time tackling the highly technical Kautz Glacier route to generate awareness towards the need for electricity and light in rural communities around the world. To date, almost $150,000 has been raised through these initiatives.
Have an idea on a new adventure or a campaign that needs awareness? Let me know!
Entering It’s third year, the DMC Hospital continues to serve its patients with the love and compassion of Jesus
Through a unique opportunity to serve with Africa New Life Ministries, my family and I ventured to Rwanda, Africa in the fall of 2016 for 47 days. While in country and upon returning home, I volunteered my time and profession skills by working with a team to develop the business plan and the go-to-market strategy for the Dream Medical Center; a 50 bed hospital in Kigali, Rwanda. My wife, Rebecca, worked with local women teaching them marketable skills and providing them hope.
Through the process of researching the market, identifying the needs of the population and the gaps that exist in current services, aligning those needs with the expertise of the staff and the available resources available to the Dream Medical Center and developing new and innovative solutions to an emerging market, we were able to increase the forecasted profitability of the facility, decrease the projected time to get to a monthly cash flow positive position, and consequently, provide more funding to other missions programs of Africa New Life such as child sponsorship, feeding centers and pastor training.

One of many construction projects in Colombia that I have been honored to be a part of.
Through a partnership with Emmanuel Church of Greenwood in Greenwood, IN, I have assisted in leading teams to serve in Colombia, South America for five years. Whether performing leadership training for Colombian men in the communities served, brainstorming and evaluating small business ideas with entrepreneurs, or simply serving and providing hope to families experiencing the effects of extreme poverty, these trips have allowed me to developed a new perspective on life and a thankfulness for the opportunities that have been presented to me over the years.

As a marketing consultant for Africa New Life Ministries, I have assisted with website design, lead generation and campaigns management focusing on growing church partnerships, increasing child sponsorship awareness, and strategizing on the visionary plan. Campaigns have been designed around adventure treks that have generated tens of thousands of dollars.
Through work assisting in the development of the process for partnering with churches, African New Life has set stretch goals set for the future that will potentially double the size of the ministry. We have worked together to develop the marketing strategy for increasing productivity through the implementation of an inside sale team which will develop leads for the ground team to deliver results on.
Additionally, my wife, Rebecca, and I have led the charge in partnering Africa New Life Ministries with Emmanuel Church of Greenwood Indiana to provide funding for a new community serving Congo refugees in Northern Rwanda.
As I have networked in the the city of Atlanta, I have become passionate about assisting those that find themselves in career transition. I found that I have skills in marketing that I can leverage and pass on to those that need to market themselves to potential employers.
I have put this passion into action. Every month, I now host a free personal website development class where anyone can come and network with peers, develop and hone in on their personal brand and their story, and learn about tools that can make the website development process easier than most assume.
Additionally I have now built content development tools and walk-through guides that will assist you in developing your own brand. They break the content into pieces and provide examples of the types of content to place in different positions of the website.
These classes have become popular with close to 100 registerants per class in North Atlanta and we are looking to expand further. If you would like to join us for a class you can register here.
